FAQ 1

F.A.Q

1. Our flight to Athens is before the 11th of May. How can we move between the Airport and Athens?

You can travel from Athens airport to the city centre using three different means of transport; metro, bus and taxi. The cheapest transportation option is the public bus, at only 6€ per person for a one-way ticket. The bus line X95 runs 24/7 from Athens Airport to Syntagma Square.  The fastest option is an Athens airport taxi, which comes at a cost of 40€ per ride. Another means of transportation is the metro, which leaves every 30 minutes and costs 10€ one-way. The metro line departs from Athens airport every 30 minutes (05′ and 35′), and costs 10€ one way or 18€ for a round-trip. The journey takes around 50 minutes, but there are no trains after 23:35.Children under 6 years old can use the metro for free.

2. Our flight from Athens is after the 14th of May. How can we reach Athens Airport from Olympia?

The nearest town to Olympia with a frequent bus connection to Athens is Pyrgos. There are about 8 buses per day to Athens. So, we should book a transport per taxi from Olympia to Pyrgos (20km). The bus to Athens arrives at a station where you can take directly another bus to the airport (X93), or to a Metro station where you can connect with the Metro to the airport. All this would take about 7-8 hours.
Alternatively, we will collect the needs of several teams that might envisage the same problem and book a bus directly to the airport at a bearable and comparable cost.
