Michael Parousis

Professor Dr. Michael Paroussis is Chair of the Department of Philosophy of the University of Patras, where he teaches Philosophy of Law, Theory of Democracy and Bioethics. He graduated with honors from the Law School of Athens, holds a master's degree from the Sorbonne University in History and Theory of Institutions, and a PhD from the University of Freiburg where he was an Assistant Professor at the Law School. For his doctoral thesis he was awarded the Karl von Roteck Grand Prize of the University of Freiburg,. He has been also awarded with the European Prize for Legal Theory by the European Academy of Legal Theory (Brussels). Author of 3 books and several articles, with a special research interest in History of Institutions, Deliberative Democracy, Relational Personhood, Values in Bioethics, and Theory of Normative Systems
